Released in 1993, this split single by Nirvana and The Jesus Lizard brought together two of the most influential bands of the alternative era. “Puss” originally appeared on The Jesus Lizard’s 1992 album Liar and was recorded by Steve Albini, who would later go on to produce Nirvana’s final studio album, In Utero. “Oh, the Guilt” is a rare Nirvana recording tracked in April 1992 by Barrett Jones.The sleeve artwork features “Old Indian and White Poodle,” a painting by Malcolm Bucknall.This T-shirt is believed to have been a promotional item distributed in either the United States or Australia at the time of the single’s release. While Nirvana defined the grunge movement and The Jesus Lizard became one of the most important bands in alternative rock, their collaboration in this form remains relatively unknown. As a vintage T-shirt documenting this unlikely crossover, its significance and rarity are difficult to overstate.
