Formed in Aberdeen, Washington, in 1987, Nirvana features here on a T-shirt with the cover of their second album, Nevermind (1991), printed on the front and the band’s name and logo on the back. Depicting a baby swimming underwater toward a dollar bill dangling from a fishhook, the cover is one of the most recognizable images in rock history. Featuring hits such as “Smells Like Teen Spirit,” the album sold over 30 million copies worldwide and propelled grunge into a global movement.Particularly noteworthy is the Liquid Blue body, produced by a company renowned for its extensive work in rock band merchandise. Although several manufacturers produced Nirvana’s official merchandise at the time, examples made by Liquid Blue are exceptionally rare. This may have been a test sample that never entered commercial production, potentially making it an especially scarce piece. Size L.
